Work Motivation Inventory
The Work Motivation Inventory (WMI) is a self-evaluation survey designed to provide feedback on aspects of the job and organisation that can motivate or demotivate an individual. The online tool measures 24 work characteristics that are grouped into eight clusters: Relationships, Rewards, Improvement, Control, Order, Dynamism, Challenges, and Lifestyle. Individuals are more likely to be happy, satisfied, and put in discretionary effort in jobs and organisations that provide the type of work characteristics they consider to be motivating. In contrast, individuals are likely to be unhappy, dissatisfied, put in less effort, and may even leave jobs and organisations that have aspects they find to be demotivating.
